Amazing meats as well as an ample stocked freezer as well as homemade soups, sandwiches and salads

This is my family's favorite sub shop, and for that reason this review is about their subs and not so much their deli section, which is very good in its own right. Their Italian subs are unrivaled by any other sub shop! They are also very nice which adds to the classic deli atmosphere!

Ordered a chicken salad take out. The chicken was tasty and the sandwich was fresh. It was large enough to split as there is a generous amount of chicken salad in the wrap. The staff was friendly and even the patrons are, one moved to the door to hold it open for me! Maybe a future trip I'll be able to browse around and check out the actual butcher shop portion.

I do not often give 4 stars. The place has to be phenomenal. Enough said! Only complaint is that their chicken salad (the mixed kind with mayo, not lettuce salad), is so unbelievably good that no matter how much they make, they run out. Steak & Cheese subs are great, chicken, bacon & ranch sub is excellent (not sure if that's even on the menu). They have fresh soup year round (think year round). I also get my chicken breast, Hamburg, steaks etc here on occasion. I also sometimes call ahead to pre-order cole cuts by the pound. They are the one place in the area that ALWAYS cuts them the way I ask. They know what "thin" actually means. Everyone is so kind. My favorite establishment in Groton

Under new management, and killing it. --- I was a little worried when I heard someone else bought the place / under new management, but I have to say, I think they're even better. It's comical to read my original review. This place has been a staple for me and it is a true gem in this community and town. I am so grateful it exists, and here's why. The subs are still excellent. Note: as of this writing they do not so hot subs on the weekend, only cold. I wish they did amd hope they will soon. New management has improved the floor plan and the meat storage. The counter is all now one long counter and more people can fit inside now. The meats are AMAZING. We cannot stop drooling over this place. Get a bag of marinated steak tips- they are better than a restaurant. Just grill them up. Tender, juicy, flavorful. So good. Get a bag of marinated chicken wings - just bake 'em. So large, so juicy and the flavor is unbeatable. Also better than a restaurant. I almost don't want you to know how good this place is because I want it all for myself! But please, please please please go here and take some meat home and revel in how awesome your life is that you get to eat such high quality and flavorful meats!!!!!!

This place changed ownership just recently and the new owners are wonderful. I don't do a lot of reviews but this place is great if you are looking for a GREAT sandwich or sub. Great chili too!!!They also have a beautiful selection of beef and fresh seafood! Here is my scale of 5-10 on the sandwich/ subs, soup that I have had. I do wish they invested in a high speed oven toaster because I love toasted Italian subs. But non the less I highly recommend!! SCALE: 10- out of this world- rarely given 9- spectacular 8- great 7- good 6- fair 5- don't bother Chili-8.5 Tuna salad-9 Steak and cheese-8.5 Roast beef-8.5 Turkey-8 Italian-8 Hot dog-5, they need to do natural casing. Skinless doesn't work for me. It was a little mushy.
